Music gave me the voice that I previously found it hard to find. Since the age of 4, I have wanted to get across opinions and views verbally, it was a speech impediment that prevented me from doing this. Stammering was a frustrating daily occurrence. But with years of attending speech therapist appointments, I have significantly improved in controlling my speech. Hip hop played a big part in improving my confidence. Since discovering hip hop and the art form of rap, the speech impediment has taken the back seat in my life. When the instrumental is playing, when the record button has been pressed, nobody would even think that I have a speech impediment. This just shows the power that hip hop has in everyday life. Hip hop didn't invent anything, hip hop reinvented everything.
